At its regular meeting Thursday night, the Klein ISD board of trustees approved construction plans for new audio systems in several elementary schools, as well as the district and campus improvement plans. The meeting was postponed from Tuesday night, when the district was closed for icy road conditions.
  1. The board approved construction plans to install new audio systems in multiple elementary schools, including Brill, Ehrhardt, Kaiser, Krahn, Nitsch and Roth schools. The $700,000 project is funded through a $498.1 million bond package that was approved by voters in 2015.
  2. The board approved the district's annual district and campus improvement plans. These plans highlight goals the district will work toward this year. Some of the district goals include refreshing the curriculum and eliminating any existing inequalities that limit students' access to learning opportunities.
  3. The board approved a service and cost-sharing agreement for water and sanitary services for Elementary School No. 33 from Bridgestone Municipal Utility District. The elementary school—located on Frassati Way, near Spring Stuebner Road—will open in August 2019.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 12.
