On Friday morning, residents woke up to find an unexpected coating of snow on their cars, lawns and holiday decorations. The snow stuck around on tree boughs into the morning, and the area's many parks were painted white with several inches of wet, clumping snow.

Here are a few scenes from early Friday morning in Harris County Precinct 4's Meyer Park on Cypresswood Drive and Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve on Chasewood Park Drive.
