Granny G's Wine Co. will celebrate its grand opening Aug. 30 in Old Town Spring with an assortment of hand-bottled wines and raffle prizes.

Meet the owner

Conroe native Gail Camp said she ferments, bottles and labels all of the wine herself using wine kits, which makes her business unique from some of the other wine sellers in the area. While the business doesn't have a storefront, Camp said she intends on selling wine at markets, private events and through wholesale retailers.

Camp is also the owner of Granny G's Hemporium, a local business selling various THC and CBD products including tinctures, gummies and topicals. She said she decided to transition away from hemp products and focus on wine after Texas legislators announced their efforts to ban THC products and is set to close Granny G's Hemporium in mid-August, she said.

Camp said she wants to focus on building relationships and growing the brand in the first year of the wine business. While she's based in Conroe, Camp said she intends on selling her wines statewide.

"I want to be a community person," Camp said. "I just want to bring people some joy and some drinks on a hot day."
