Ask the editor: What is opening along the Grand Parkway?

Development around the Grand Parkway has reached a fever pitch this spring, with major shopping centers opening and other projects breaking ground in the first months of the year.

Target opened at Spring Stuebner Road and the Grand Parkway in early March, followed by other retailers including Party City and Five Below. Meanwhile, just south of the toll road near I-45, the developers of Springwoods Village continue to fill out a long-range plan that includes a mix of business and office space.

The new 337-room Marriott CityPlace hotel broke ground in Springwoods Village in late March, and work will begin soon on the CityPlace 2 office building, the future home of the American Bureau of Shipping.

Another major project to keep an eye out for will be a new H-E-B supermarket at Champion Forest Drive and the Grand Parkway. While an exact opening date has not been announced, we expect this store to open later this spring.
