Each January, Community Impact Newspaper takes a look at news stories we think will deserve readers’ attention in the year ahead.

This year we chose stories about topics that affect our tax bills, educational facilities, the roads we use every day and the places we do business as well as stories that will have an effect on large numbers of residents in Spring and Klein.

For example, readers following local politics will note 2019 marks a significant change at the county level, with a new Harris County judge and officials throughout county government taking their oaths of office early this month.

Among the other developments we want to watch in 2019 are delays to a major road construction project on FM 1960 and plans hospitals have put into place to offer more services to the area’s growing population.

We hope you enjoy this look at the stories to watch in 2019 and will engage with us on your ideas about newsworthy events and issues in the area.
