Spring and Klein ISD announced Sunday afternoon they will remain closed through Tuesday, Sept. 5 due to catastrophic flooding in the Greater Houston area. School officials urge families to watch for updates on district websites.

10:59 a.m.:

Spring and Klein ISDs are closed Monday and Tuesday because of hazardous conditions caused by Hurricane Harvey, district officials announced. Updates will be posted on the district websites and social media as the storm progresses, officials said.



 


Lone Star College System is also closed Monday and Tuesday.



Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman urges residents to stay indoors and avoid the roads as waters rise in the area.

 



According to the Harris County Flood Warning System, just under foot of rain had fallen along Cypress Creek as of 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

The Precinct 4 constable's office is posting road closures lists regularly on its Facebook page.

On Sunday morning, road closures posted included locations on  Cypresswood Drive, Louetta Road, Hardy Toll Road and Beltway 8.
