Dollar General is now open at 16620 Ella Blvd., Houston, according to an April 17 news release from the company.

According to the release, Dollar General offers a slate of household essentials at an affordable price, including food, cleaning supplies, paper products, over-the-counter medicines, hygiene products and baby items as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. The new storefront also offers seasonal home decor and an expanded party preparation selection.

“At Dollar General, we believe the addition of each new store provides positive economic growth for the communities we proudly serve, and the addition of our new Houston store highlights our commitment to deliver a pleasant shopping experience that includes great prices on quality products in a convenient location,” said Matthew Simonson, Dollar General's senior vice president of real estate and store development, in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming customers to our new store and hope they will enjoy shopping at our new location.”

In celebration of the new store's opening, Dollar General plans to donate 100 new books to a nearby elementary school, according to the release. The new storefront is located within Spring ISD's boundaries. www.dollargeneral.com
