A new 103,000-square-foot H-E-B located on Champion Forest Drive in Spring opens at 6 a.m. Wednesday. While the new store will carry many of the same products as other H-E-B markets such as fresh produce, dairy, meats and herbs, Scott McClelland, president of H-E-B Houston Region, said this store is very much customized to the affluent community in which it is located. “This is an upper-income area, so we have tailored the store to an upper-income customer,” McClelland said. “As a result, we have really maximized the variety in the store.” McClelland said customers will find unique additions such as a sit-down noodle restaurant, which is a first for H-E-B, and an optical shop, which will be the second one H-E-B has opened. McClelland also said the new store is the second H-E-B where the perishable departments are located on the outer walls. McClelland said the store will carry more than 800 different types of cheese, more than 1,700 different types of wine, a bakery where all bread and cake is made from scratch, 28-day dry-aged beef and a very large seafood selection, including 1-pound lobsters. “Basically, in this store I put everything [that] I know how—as good as H-E-B knows how—because this community deserves it,” McClelland said. The store is located at 20311 Champion Forest Drive, Spring. The store hours will be 6 a.m.-midnight daily. [aesop_gallery id="238699"]
