The Toasted Yolk Cafe, a breakfast and lunch restaurant with locations in Conroe and on I-45 South, announced Monday that it will open a third location in 2017 at the Grand Parkway Marketplace near Kuykendahl Road and The Grand Parkway. A Target store was announced as the anchor for the shopping center earlier this year.

The restaurant is named for its signature breakfast item, the Toasted Yolk, owner Chris Milton said.

"We take sourdough bread, and we cut the centers out and cook it on a flat top [grill], then plop an egg right in the middle of it," Milton said.

Other popular menu items at The Toasted Yolk Cafe include its "Arnolds," which are inspired by Eggs Benedict and include Hollandaise sauce, poached eggs and Canadian bacon on an English muffin. The restaurant also features a large lunch menu with items such as Strawberry Fields salad, a Reuben sandwich and a soup of the day.

The Toasted Yolk Cafe opened in Conroe in 2010 and the second location, between Richey Road and Airtex Drive on I-45 South, opened in 2014.

Milton, who lives in The Woodlands, said customers have been asking for a centralized location in addition to the two existing sites.

The restaurant is projected to open in June, Milton said.
