The Weingarten Art Group will be bringing public art installations to City Place, thanks to a new partnership with City Place developer CDC Houston and Harris County Improvement District 18, officials announced in a news release March 5.

What to expect

According to the release, the partnering entities are developing a long-term plan to incorporate a mix of permanent and temporary art installations throughout City Place's urban core as well as across its green spaces, waterways and nature trails. Per the release, the goal is to bring "engaging, thought-provoking and sometimes amusing" installations to City Place.

Quote of note

"The City Place team is inspired by the simple premise that some of the most intriguing art may be experienced in everyday life, outside the confines of a museum or gallery," Weingarten Art Group Principal Lea Weingarten said in a statement. "The beauty of this sustainable community has created an incredible canvas to curate a unique vision that complements its multidimensional character and vibrancy."
