Remodeling work on the Forest Oaks Park playground is tentatively slated to begin on Feb. 7, according to a blog post from Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 110, which operates the park. The project is expected to take about one month, depending on weather conditions, with the park’s soft opening slated for March 8 and a grand opening to follow.

The park renovations will begin with the demolition of the current structures, followed by the installation of a “new French drain system,” which is supposed to improve drainage, according to the post. New playground equipment will be added and will include a four-bay swing set and two separate play units with activity features designed for 2- to 5-year-olds and 5- to 12-year-olds.

WCID 110 will be holding an Easter Egg hunt at Forest Oaks Park the day the playground is scheduled to celebrate its grand opening. The event is free for district residents and their guests, according to the district’s website.
