Northbound lanes on the Grand Parkway at the Stavinoha Bridge from Riverpark Drive to New Territory Boulevard will be closed from 7 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21. Southbound lane closures are planned to begin 5 a.m. Nov. 27 through 5 p.m. Dec. 22, according to the Fort Bend Grand Parkway Toll Road Authority. "The total closure is required to complete the emergency repair that will stabilize the northern bank of the Brazos River and prevent any damage to the Grand Parkway bridge while ensuring the safety of the traveling public," toll road authority officials stated in a press release. For detours, the authority advises northbound drivers on the Grand Parkway to take Hwy. 59 to Hwy. 6, turn left onto US 90A and proceed to the Grand Parkway to reenter mainlanes at the northbound entrance ramp from US 90A or FM 1464. "Between Nov. 21 and Nov. 27, both northbound and southbound Grand Parkway traffic is scheduled to remain open in one lane only," the release stated. "All dates on the southbound traffic closure are tentative and subject to change at this time." Starting Nov. 27, southbound traffic on the Grand Parkway can detour by exiting at FM 1464/US 90A, turning left on US 90A and then proceeding south on Hwy. 6 to access Hwy. 59.
