The city of Richmond and Republic Services are sponsoring the 2017 Spring "Clean-Up" campaign on Saturday April 15, from 7-9a.m. Richmond city noted This three-weekend service will focus on different sections of the city of Richmond and the Municipal Utility Districts (MUD) with utilities managed by the city. Areas north of the Union Pacific Railroad Tracks and east of FM 359 – including Rivers Edge Subdivision, MUD 140 – will be serviced on the first Saturday of the campaign. Areas south of the railroad tracks will be serviced on following Saturdays, April 22 and 29 from 7-9p.m. Spring Clean-Up Richmond map copy Residents are asked to have all items stacked at curbside by 7a.m. Saturday morning. Not only must items be stacked there is a limit of 20 cubic yards. Trucks will not collect the following items: ammonia, ammunition, antifreeze, appliance with Freon unless professionally removed, asbestos, batteries, bleach, bricks, caustics, car parts, chlorine, commercial business waste, compressed gas cylinders, concrete, construction debris, corrosives, debris from vacant lots, dismantled buildings or structures, dioxins, electronics, explosives, fertilizers, flammables, filters, fuel, germicides, gun powder, household chemicals, household hazardous waste, medical waste, oil, paint, pesticides, PCB’s, propane, radioactive waste, reactives, remodeling debris, sludge, tires, and TV’s. The city notes that residents should dispose of tires, batteries, oil, wet paint and hazardous materials in the proper manor. The Fort Bend County Recycling and Environmental Center accepts Oil, tires, hazardous wastes and recyclable material. Monday – Saturday 8a.m.-4pm., closed Sunday. Wet paint can be disposed of at the Fort Bend County’s Household Hazardous Waste Center, 1-14 gallons ($1 per gallon), 15 gallons and up ($5 per gallon after 14). Household Hazardous Waste is accepted on Mondays and the first Saturday of every month. Both facilities are located at 1200 Blume Road, Rosenberg. Proof of Fort Bend county residence is required.
