June 30: Food Truck Friday
The Richmond Central Fire Station will host the Watcha Cravin Food Truck for a Friday food truck event. Watcha Cravin offers a diverse menu with dishes that range from BBQ pulled pork sandwiches to fish tacos to loaded mac and cheese. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free, not including food. June 30: Single Parents Empowerment 1st Annual Meeting
Kindred Spirits will host an information session for single parents at the George Memorial Library on Friday. The nonprofit works to create a community that provides encouragement and motivation throughout the difficulties parenthood. 1-2 p.m. Free. George Memorial Library, 1001 Golfview Drive, Richmond.
July 1: Boot Camp
Veritas Strength and Conditioning is offering a fitness boot camp at Blockhouse Coffee. July 1: Star-Spangled Celebration at Veranda
Start off the holiday celebrations with fireworks and food trucks at the Star-Spangled Celebration at Veranda, a new single-family home community by the Johnson Development Corp. The event is family-friendly and will feature bounce houses, games, a DJ, food trucks, face painters, a watermelon eating contest and water slide. 6-9 p.m. Free. July 4: An American Tradition
The George Ranch Historical Park is celebrating July 4 with a scavenger hunt, hot dog feast and annual cobbler eating contest. The event will feature other historic games as well as a reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Davis Victorian Mansion. 9 a.m., admission starts, 12:30 p.m., Fourth of July hotdog lunch. $15 for adults, $14 for seniors, $12 for children 5-12, $4 for children 4 and younger.
