The city of Richmond’s Food Truck Friday vendor for this week will be Kreaole Soul.  The truck will be at the at the Central Fire Department – located at 200 Houston St – from 11a.m. to 2p.m. Among other things, the truck will offer fried fish, crawfish boudin balls and po-boys.

April 22

Keep Richmond Beautiful is having a shredding event for residents of the city of Richmond. A Pro Shred truck will be on site to shred items including paper documents, CD’s/DVD’s, notepads, and sensitive materials – such as tax returns, bank statements, and credit applications. The 15th Annual Picnic in the Park is geared towards families who may benefit from resources available for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. Participants will learn how to receive assistance and enroll in programs that support their special needs. This all-inclusive event offers a day without stares, stigmas, or expectations for families dealing with these issues. There will be information geared toward autism and intellectual disabilities and their caregivers, family friendly activities, free food, entertainment and games. 16756 Westheimer Parkway, Houston 12-4p.m.

Sienna Plantation Animal Hospital will host the annual Sienna Pet Fest. This event will include pet adoptions, moon bounces, and face painting. 9212 Sienna Ranch Road, Missouri City. 281-778-5244.

The 4th Annual Doggone Fun Run will be held at the Village of Sawmill Lake in Sienna Plantation. This event is to raise funds for disadvantaged children in Fort Bend county and includes a chip timed 5K run – with and without dogs – and a 1 mile fun run/walk. The vets from Animal Planet's “The Vet Life” will be on hand.  There will also be a costume contest.,! $35 (5K entry fee). Hope For Three's 5th annual Strike Out event is a family fun day honoring families living with autism. Over 300 volunteers, elected officials and Skeeters Team Members host a memorable event for about 400 family members from the autism community.
