1. Stadia's Mardi Gras party
Stadia Sports Grill in Pearland Town Center will have a DJ starting at 9 p.m. Friday along with Mardi Gras beads and decorations. 11200 Broadway St., Ste. 947.

2. Alvin ISD Turtle Race 1K/5K
The Alvin ISD Education Foundation Annual Turtle Race is set for Saturday. Check-in starts at 7:45 a.m. and the fun run begins at 9 a.m. at First National Oak Park in Alvin. The race has a 1K for kids age 11 and under and a 5K run/walk for older kids and adults.

3. Pearland Farmers Market
The Pearland Farmers Market returns to Pearland Town Center, featuring produce, food, beverages, crafts and more from local vendors. The market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

4. Softball opening day
The Pearland Girls Softball Association celebrates opening day with team photos, carnival games, vendors and more starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dads' Club Community Park, 3219 Veterans Road, Pearland. Wristbands for the games and bounce house are $20 in advance, $25 at the gate.

5. Peppers & Pints Chili Cookoff
HERO&S—Helping Emergency Response Officers and Students—is partnering with Bakfish Brewing for its Peppers & Pints Chili Cookoff, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event raises money for the organization and offers prizes for the cookoff winners as well as a raffle for all participants.
