Brazoria County expects Hurricane Laura to have 'minimal impact' on county

While the Brazoria County Office of Emergency Management is continuing to monitor Hurricane Laura, the county is expecting the storm's effect on the county to be minimal due to the latest predictions from the National Weather Service, according to a press release from the county.

Fort Bend County judge makes disaster declaration in anticipation of Hurricane Laura

Following suit with Gov. Greg Abbott, Fort Bend County Judge KP George issued a disaster declaration Aug. 26 to prepare for Hurricane Laura, he said at his 9:30 a.m. press conference Aug. 26.

All Greater Houston-area H-E-B locations are scheduled to close by 6 p.m. on Aug. 26 in preparation for Hurricane Laura, H-E-B officials announced Aug. 26.

All afternoon METRO transit services suspended Aug. 26 in anticipation of Hurricane Laura

The Harris County Metropolitan Transit Authority will suspend all transit service operations at 4 p.m. Aug. 26 in anticipation of the developing Hurricane Laura, according to an Aug. 25 press release.
