Pearland City Council voted to award a construction contract for $1.6 million to Tandem Services for the Halik Street reconstruction project at the July 12 meeting.

The contract is for Phase 3 of the project and will fund drainage improvements from Halik to Rice Drier Road as well as reconstructing Halik.

The project is funded by the Pearland Economic Development Corp. and will cost $1.6 million.

The city of Pearland plans to issue a notice to proceed in August with construction expected to last five months, according to the agenda document.
