The southeast portion of Blackhawk Boulevard will be open to through traffic starting on Aug. 2. Construction on the northwest side will also begin on Aug. 2.
The project, funded through the city's 2013 bond, includes improvements from Friendswood Link Road to Edenvale Street, including replacement of over 6,000 feet of concrete pavement, replacement of curb and gutter, and evaluation of existing utilities.
The project costs $4.58 million and is projected to be completed in 2020.
