Several roads in Friendswood will be closed the morning of July 4 for the grand parade. Closures begin at 9:45 a.m. and the parade starts at 10 a.m.

Northbound traffic on FM 518 will be diverted at Whispering Pines Avenue. Drivers are encouraged to use Blackhawk Boulevard as an alternate route.

Southbound traffic on FM 518 will be diverted at FM 2351. Drivers can take Sunset Drive as an alternate route.

Parking is prohibited on the northbound side of Cedarwood Drive beginning at 9:45 a.m. July 4.

From 8 a.m. July 3 to 8 a.m. July 5 several no parking zones are also in effect throughout the city. Parking is not allowed during this time on either side of FM 518 between Eagle Lakes Drive and Old Road, or on Falcon Ridge between Hawkhill Drive and West Boulevard.

Parking during these hours is also limited to one side of the street on all streets in the Lakes of Falcon Ridge subdivision.

There is no public parking for the Fourth of July evening show at Centennial Park, but free shuttles will run between 6:30-8:45 p.m. from Brookside Intermediate School, 3535 E FM 528 and Friendswood High School.

The possession or usage of any fireworks is illegal within Friendswood City Limits, according to the Friendswood Fire Marshal’s Office.
