The magical summer season came to an end for the Pearland All Stars on Aug. 25.

The All Stars were unable to get the bats rolling against Nolensville, Tennessee and fell 7-1, ending what was a strong season for Pearland.

Despite the loss, Pearland got things rolling first with a double from Jacob Zurek. Kaiden Shelton followed it up with a single into the outfield that allowed Zurek to get home and score for the early lead.

Nolensville, Tennessee, did not take long to respond, however, making up for the run and more at the bottom of the first. Tennessee hit three straight singles to load the bases, which set the stage for Josiah Porter, who hit the grand slam to give the Southeast champions the 4-1 lead.

Pearland was able to get runners on base throughout the game, but could not capitalize and cut into the deficit.

At the bottom of the fourth, Tennessee added an insurance run after Drew Chadwick was hit by a pitch. Porter then singled to advance Chadwick to second. A line drive from JF Forni brought Chadwick home. Tennessee then added two runs at the bottom of the fifth.

The All Stars will now return to Pearland.
