“We are excited about the move because it gives us the opportunity to streamline our operations, so we can continue growing at a fast pace,” Executive Director Eduardo Guzman said. “We are really excited to be moving to the other side of Clear Creek, and we think the next year is going to be really strong for PMT YAS! Studio.”
The new location will have the look and feel of the previous space, Guzman said. The studio is taking the seats from the existing theater to the new location and will still put on performances at the new facility.
The biggest change regarding the new facility will be its focus on putting together high-powered rehearsals and offering a space to serve as a training facility, Guzman said.
While September is a transition month for PMT YAS! Studio, Guzman said they anticipate fully moving into the new location by mid-September.
PMT YAS! Studio offers creative courses, weeklong cabaret camps and full-scale musical theater productions for those 5-18 years old, according to the studio's website.
The first performance at the new location will be Sept. 27 with the "Broadway Concert Series," a performance where the studio highlights music of the 1980s through inspirations, such as "The Wedding Singer," "Rock of Ages" and "Footloose," Guzman said.
“That will be our first kickoff event,” Guzman said.
