Pearland City Council at its Sept. 23 meeting nominated appointees for the board of directors that will serve three of Pearland's appraisal districts.

Council voted to nominate appointees to the following appraisal districts:City council approved the following nominees:
  • George Sandars for Brazoria County Appraisal District
  • Bill Fraiser for Harris County Appraisal District
  • Michael Rozell for Fort Bend County Appraisal District
The details

While the board of directors has no authority to set values or appraisal methods, it does appoint the chief appraiser who carries out the appraisal district's legal duties. The board also hires staff, administers the annual appraisal process and operates the appraisal office.
