Over the last five years, the age demographics of residents in Pearland and Friendswood have changed, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2022 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates released Dec. 7.

In a nutshell

Overall, Pearland saw an increase in residents ages 0-19, with the percentage of residents in that age category rising from 28% to 30%, according to the data.

Despite the uptick in child residents, the overall median age increased to 36.2 from 35.1 years old, according to the data.

Meanwhile, Friendswood saw a population uptick among residents between ages 20-39, the data shows. The median age did not change from 38.7 between 2017 and 2022.
