The race to determine the new seatholder for Pearland City Council Position 5 is underway.
The early-voting period for the Pearland City Council Position 5 runoff election between Layni Cade and Zach Boyer opened May 31 and will extend through June 7. Election day will be June 11.
Cade led the race across Brazoria, Harris and Fort Bend counties by accumulating 46.14% of the votes May 7. Boyer finished second with 23.13% of the votes.
People can vote in person during the early-voting period at Tom Reid Library at 3522 Liberty Drive, Pearland; the West Pearland Library at 11801 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland; and the Westside Event Center at 2150 Country Place Parkway, Pearland.
