Alvin Community College on March 26 will host the 5K Kidz Harbor Fun Run, according to a college news release.

The proceeds raised by the run will benefit Kidz Harbor foster care, an orphanage that offers medical, physical, educational and psychological services to children. The funds will be used for hygiene products for the children at the shelter, including soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, feminine products and pillows, according to the release.

The event will take place throughout the ACC campus located at 3110 Mustang Road, Alvin, beginning at 7:30 a.m. on March 26 with the run starting at 8 a.m., according to the release.

Registration is $10 for adults and $5 for age 12 and younger. T-shirts will be $15 for children and $18 for adults. ACC is also offering a “snooze option,” which is a $7 donation for those who wish to donate but not participate in the run.

People can register for the run through ACC’s website.
