With the filing period beginning Jan. 15, a number of candidates have filed for the May 3 election in Pearland ISD, Alvin ISD and the city of Friendswood.

The last day to register to vote is April 3. Early voting will be from April 22-29, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.

AISD

There are currently no candidates that have filed for a place on the May ballot, AISD Chief Communications Officer Renae Rives said in a Jan. 16 email.

For AISD, the following three-year positions will be up for election:
  • Position 4
  • Position 5
Those positions are currently held by Regan Peterson and David Selsky, respectively, according to AISD’s website.

PISD

Incumbents Jenny Francis and Nanette Weimer have filed for a place on the May ballot, according to PISD’s election website.

Francis serves Position 6, while Weimer serves Position 7, according to the district’s website.


Position 5, which is currently held by Amanda Kuhn, is also up for election in May, the district’s website notes.

All positions are three-year terms.

Friendswood City Council


Incumbent Robert Griffon has filed for Position 4 on the May ballot, according to Friendswood director of communications Glenda Dawson.

Griffon serves Position 4, according to the city’s website.
