With all voting centers reporting in Harris, Brazoria and Galveston counties, Susan Criss has won the Democratic seat by less than 3,000 votes.

"I am humbled and honored to have the confidence of the voters. I think it is wonderful so many people have voted in this primary," Criss said. "I am thrilled so many people exercised their right to vote and I am excited about rest of the year."

With 401 out of 401 voting centers reporting in Harris County, Margarita Ruiz Johnson won 7,842 votes, or 51.2% of the Harris County vote. Criss won 7,474 votes, or 48.8% of the vote.


Criss received 25,913 votes, or 53% of the vote in all three counties combined. While Johnson scored more votes than her opponent in Harris and Brazoria counties, she received 23,024 votes, or 47% of the vote in all three counties combined.

With 37 out of 37 voting centers reporting in Brazoria County, Margarita Ruiz Johnson leads with 8,308 votes, or 53.89% of the vote. Susan Criss received 7,108 votes, or 46.11% of the vote.


With 41 out of 41 voting centers reporting in Galveston County, Susan Criss has 11,331 votes, or 62.24% of the vote. Margarita Ruiz Johnson has 6,874 votes, or 37.76% of the vote.

With 140 out of 401 voting centers reporting in Harris County, Susan Criss has 4,249 votes, or 53.68% of the vote. Margarita Ruiz Johnson has 3,667 votes, or 46.32% of the vote.

With some election day results coming in at Brazoria County, Susan Criss has 4,554 votes, or 47.4% of the vote. Margarita Ruiz Johnson has 5,053 votes, or 52.6% of the vote.


With 53 out of 401 voting centers reporting in Harris County, Susan Criss has 4,101 votes, or 53.95% of the vote. Margarita Ruiz Johnson has 3,500 votes, or 46.05% of the vote.

With 34 out of 41 voting centers reporting, Susan Criss is pulling ahead in the Texas Senate District 11 Democratic primary.

Criss has 10,049 votes, or 63.36% of the vote in Galveston County. Margarita Ruiz Johnson has 5,810 votes, or 36.64% of the vote in Galveston County.

Election day results are starting to come in for Galveston County, with 25 of 41 voting centers reporting.

Susan Criss is still in the lead with 8,120 votes, or 65.04% of the vote in Galveston County. Margarita Ruiz Johnson has 4,365 votes, or 34.96% of the vote in Galveston County.

Early voting results are in for the Texas Senate District 11 Democratic primary race.

Susan Criss has 5,932 votes, or 68% of the vote. Margarita Ruiz Johnson has 2,792 votes, or 32% of the vote.

The winner of the primary will face incumbent Larry Taylor in November, as Taylor is unopposed in the Republican primary.
