The Friendswood Education Foundation raised $480,000 for Friendswood ISD at its 25th anniversary gala on Feb. 8, according to a Feb. 13 news release from the district.

Officials said the fundraiser, which goes toward grants and various educational initiatives at FISD, was the largest one the FEF has had, according to the news release.

The annual event, which was titled Reflections, was held at the Galveston Island Convention Center. It included a live and silent auction, a paddle raise and a reflection on “25 years of impact and [recommitment] to the foundation’s mission of enhancing educational opportunities,” the news release reads.

The event brought over 780 community members, educators and supporters, the news release noted.

“We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of our community,” FEF board president Shanna Kirkpatrick said in the news release. “For 25 years, FEF has funded cutting-edge resources and programs that set FISD apart. [The gala] was about celebrating that legacy and looking ahead to the next 25 years of innovation in education.”
