How we got here

The District Education Improvement Committee, which is composed of teachers, parents and community members, created the calendar through several meetings, district documents note.

The committee members went through a process of collecting data and input from parents, district staff and community members, and then reviewing that information at its November meeting, according to district documents.

Parents, district staff and high school students also had an opportunity in November to submit a survey with questions about the draft calendar. The committee used all of the information gathered to create the recommended calendar for board approval, according to district documents.
