Alvin ISD’s board of trustees approved selling what it called an excess property that used to be the Alvin High School Daycare Facility.

The land, totaling around two-thirds of an acre off Cedar Lawn Drive in Alvin, was unusable for a school site and selling it doesn’t affect the district’s ability to use or improve a school site in the area, according to an Oct. 28 memo included in the district’s agenda documents.

The district originally did not receive any responses to the sale, according to the memo. Officials then went through a real estate agent, which netted an offer for $395,000.
