The time capsule was buried in 1994 by former FISD teacher Cindy Young for her students, according to an Oct. 26 news release from the district.
Young created the capsule for her teaching unit on time and culture, and in order to create a connection with past and future generations, the news release reads.

Other items revealed at the time capsule ceremony were dental tools, an “Ace of Base” tape and newspaper clippings of low voter turnout, a Houston doctor working on an AIDS vaccine and Mustang playoff games, according to the news release.
The capsule was opened by Young and some of her former students, the news release reads.
