Alvin ISD officials announced the district’s summer school program, with classes set to take place in June.

Here’s what you need to know.

The gist

For high school students, AISD will offer end of credit, or EOC, remediation and retests as well as initial credit or credit recovery opportunities, according to a May 3 brochure from the district.

The schedule, according to the brochure, is as follows:
  • EOC remediation as well as initial credit and credit recovery for ninth-12th grade will take place from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday from June 3-27.
  • EOC retests will take place from June 24-27, and students will not be required to attend after they’ve taken their exams.
Initial credit and credit recovery will also be available from July 8-18 by appointment only for testing, with transportation not available, according to the brochure.

Fees for both initial credit and credit recovery are $150 per semester course, or $75 for students on the free or reduced-price meal plan, according to the brochure.

Also of note

For elementary school students, classes will run from June 3-20 Monday through Thursday, with first through fifth grade classes being held from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., according to the brochure.

For junior high students, the schedule is identical to that of high school students, according to the brochure. However, Manvel Junior High School will host all junior high students.
