Friendswood ISD swore in three trustees during its Dec. 12 board meeting, including a new member.

Beau Egert is serving his first term in Position 5, replacing Robert McCabe. Trustees Ralph Hobratschk and David Montz were sworn in again to their seats in positions 6 and 7, respectively. Each trustee will serve a four-year term.

No election was held this fall for the positions after only one candidate filed an application for each of the seats by the Aug. 22 deadline.

Egert is the CEO at Energy Water Solutions in Houston and has spent the majority of his professional career in the energy industry. In the community, he has served as a founding board member for the 4B Disaster Response Network, an elder in his local church and as the chair of Texas’ OneStar Foundation, appointed by then-Gov. Rick Perry.

Egert earned his Bachelor of Arts, University Scholar, at Baylor University and a Master of Public Policy in economics and leadership at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He and his wife, Allison Egert, have three children in Friendswood schools.
