The Friendswood ISD Education Foundation, or FEF, awarded a $115,000 legacy grant to the district’s Therapeutic Education Center to provide students with a new outdoor learning and wellness space, according to an Aug. 12 news release from the district.
What you need to know
The TEC operates inside the district’s annex building, located at 402 Laurel Drive, and is a partnership between Friendswood, Alvin and Pearland ISDs serving students with autism, low-incidence disabilities and emotional disabilities, according to the release.
The grant was awarded Aug. 10 through The U Foundation, which was founded and is led by Friendswood resident Mirna Herr.
