Pearland ISD to host job fair April 23 for bus drivers

Pearland ISD is looking for bus drivers to help transport their students.

The PISD Transportation Department will host a “Ride & Drive” job fair April 23 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the parking lot of the administration building at 1928 N. Main St., Pearland.

“We are looking for people to join our team who truly care about our students and are committed to partnering for their success,” PISD Transportation Director Keith Kaup said in a news release.

The district will provide school buses to offer hands-on experience to those applying, and PISD will also have staff on-site to answer questions, conduct interviews and aid with the application process.

The district is offering a starting pay of $18.50 per hour for the 2022-23 school year. Most work days are six hours split across two shifts during the morning and afternoon, according to PISD’s website. There are also additional opportunities for work with field trips and other events.

According to the release, PISD offers insurance benefits and paid training to acquire a commercial driver's license.
