Alvin Community College has decided to hold a virtual graduation ceremony for spring 2020 graduates.

The virtual commencement will consist of prerecorded ceremonies that include each graduate being announced individually with their picture and a commencement speech. There will be two ceremonies for graduates of the Dual Degree program and on-campus students. The videos will be available May 22 and 23.

“I know this is not what students and family look forward to in a graduation ceremony but we want to celebrate our students' accomplishments while also protecting their health and safety,” President Christal M. Albrecht said in a press release.

Spring 2020 graduates who would like a traditional ceremony can participate in the fall commencement in December.
