See what days Friendswood ISD students have off for the 2019-20 school year


Friendswood ISD students can expect a week off for Thanksgiving and spring break and two weeks off for winter break for the 2019-20 school.

The district’s board of trustees approved the 2019-20 instructional calendar Dec. 10, and students can expect similar days off as the 2018-19 school year.

This year, there are 174 days in the school year for students, with 428 minutes a day.

Here are the important dates for 2019-20:

  • Aug. 14: school starts
  • Sept. 2: Labor Day
  • Sept. 20: professional development day, no class
  • Oct. 14: professional development day, no class
  • Nov. 25-29: Thanksgiving break
  • Dec. 20: early dismissal
  • Dec. 23-Jan 6: winter break
  • Jan. 20: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Feb. 17: professional development day, no class
  • March 9-13: spring break
  • Apr. 10: Good Friday
  • Apr. 24: professional development day, no class
  • May 21: last day of school, early dismissal
