Canterra Creek, a new community from Land Tejas and Starwood Land LLC, is under development in Brazoria County, according to a Feb. 1 news release from the developer.

The overview

The development will be situated on 380 acres, with about 850 homes planned for its first phase, according to the release. Builders will include:
  • Tri Coast Homes
  • Lennar
  • CastleRock Communities
Homes in Canterra Creek will be priced from $200,000-$400,000 and sales are expected to commence within the first few months of 2024, according to the release.

The details

According to the release, planned amenities for Canterra Creek include:
  • A swimming pool
  • A splash park
  • A covered pavilion
  • A playground
  • Play fields
Residents will also have access to amenities within the Sierra Vista community, located two miles south of Canterra Creek, according to the release.


One of the amenities is a heated lazy river, which is slated to open in summer 2024, according to the Canterra Creek website.

“In addition to the new communities we’ve added in the Greater Houston area, we completed our first lazy river in Marvida in September and started construction on two more lazy rivers—in Sunterra and Sierra Vista,” Brian Stidham, vice president of Starwood Land, said in the release.
