Hines, a Houston-based real estate company, purchased 954 acres of land west of Hwy. 288 just south of Iowa Colony for the purpose of developing a master-planned community of 2,100 single-family homes. Hines said it plans to begin construction this spring and complete its first 400 lots by late 2024.

Planned amenities include a resort-style pool, a playground, and hiking and biking trails. This is Hine’s largest residential project since 1976, when it started developing the 9,700-acre First Colony in Sugar Land.
