The city’s Director of Engineering Jil Arias provided updates on the projects at the council’s Nov. 7 meeting.
Construction of Fire Station No. 2 is nearly halfway completed, with an estimated completion date in May. Expansion of the public safety building at 1600 Whitaker Drive is 73% complete. Interior work is ongoing, with completion estimated for March or April.
Construction has stalled on the Blackhawk Facility Renovation and Shelter, which will consist of shelter renovation and completion of new offices. City Council voted unanimously to table an agenda item, awarding the main facility construction contract to Construction Masters of Houston Inc.
The city will also repackage the engineering plans for Blackhawk Boulevard Phase II-B, following Harris County’s approval of an interlocal agreement with the city in October.
