Meridiana, a master-planned community in the Manvel/Iowa Colony area that opened last spring, has expanded into its second phase of about 300 homes.

Homes in the new phase range from the $200,000s to $600,000s with sites 40 feet by 100 feet wide. Builders include Chesmar Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Perry Homes, Plantation Homes, Shea Homes, Taylor Morrison and Trendmaker Homes, according to a news release.

The community, developed by Katy-based Rise Communities, markets itself as Houston’s first to offer outdoor learning labs for all ages. It also boasts an "Amenity Village" built around a lake with a pool, cabanas, fitness center, cafe, fishing pier and other activities. An 11-acre park adjacent to the village is also now under construction.

Future phases are planned, extending the community northeast, closer to Manvel High School.
