On Dec. 19, the U.S. Census Bureau released its 2018 five-year estimates for different data points, including population, housing and income.

The data shows Pearland’s population as 117,867, a 25% increase from the 2013 five-year estimates, which pinned Pearland’s population at 94,098. The 2018 five-year estimates include data from 2014-18; the 2013 five-year estimates include data from 2009-13.

Though the city’s population has increased, other demographics have stayed the same. Pearland’s population is 51.3% female and 64.8% white, which is similar to 2013 five-year estimates.

Pearland residents are also bringing in more money per household, with home values rising as well. However, the latest data shows that housing costs have remained relatively the same.

According to the data, the median home value in Pearland is $224,600. Median monthly housing costs are $1,618. The median monthly housing cost has remained roughly the same since the five-year estimates from 2013, but the median home value has risen, as it used to be $179,400.


The median household income in Pearland is $102,890; in the 2013 five-year estimates, the median household income was $92,346.
