On Dec. 11, Brazoria County reported 244 new, active COVID-19 cases, the most the county has reported on one day. Prior to December, the highest number of cases the county had reported in a day was 198 cases Sept. 11. In the first two weeks of December, the county has reported over 200 new cases a day five times.

The city of Pearland has 820 active cases as of Dec. 14, the most of any city in the county, which has 2,424 active cases total. The majority of the active cases are in the 30-39 age group.

The number of suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients in general use beds has remained steady with the number of patients reported in late November, according to data from the SouthEast Texas Regional Advisory County, or SETRAC. The number of patients reported daily from Dec. 1-14 ranged from 22 to 39. The county has 425 operational general use beds and a surge capacity of 510 beds.

The number of suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients in ICU beds has remained consistent with numbers reported in November, according to SETRAC data. The number of patients reported daily from Dec. 1-14 ranged from seven to 17. The county has 40 operational ICU beds and a surge capacity of 49 beds.
