Brazoria County reported no more than 44 cases from Oct. 6-14. The case counts have been consistently lower than what the county reported in late September, suggesting daily case counts are trending downward.

However, the number of COVID-19 patients occupying general use beds has remained consistent since mid-September, according to data from the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council. From Oct. 6-14, there were roughly 12-17 suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients occupying general use beds a day. The only exception was Oct. 10, when 37 beds were occupied by suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients. On Oct. 11, the number of beds occupied by COVID-19 patients was down to 15.

The number of suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients occupying intensive care unit beds has remained consistent since the beginning of October. Between Oct. 6 and 14, the county saw as few as three ICU beds occupied by suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases Oct. 12 and as many as eight beds occupied by suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases Oct. 8.

The city of Pearland has 209 active cases out of the county’s 622 active cases. The 50-59 age bracket has 100 active cases, more than any other age bracket in the county.
