Brazoria County continues to report fewer new cases than it did in its peak in mid-July. The county reported fewer than 100 new confirmed cases a day Aug. 17-20.

On Aug. 17, the county reported 62 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. On Aug. 18, the county reported 69 new confirmed cases and one COVID-19-related death. On Aug. 19, the county reported 78 new confirmed cases, 38 recoveries and two COVID-19-related deaths. On Aug. 20, the county reported 82 new confirmed cases and one COVID-19-related death.
Most of the cases in the county are in the 20-29 age bracket. On Aug. 19, most cases were in the 20-29 and 50-59 age brackets. However, the 40-49 age bracket reported the most cases Aug. 17, the 30-39 age bracket reported the most cases Aug. 19, and the 10-19 age bracket reported the most cases Aug. 20.

Pearland has reported more cases than any other city in the county over the course of the pandemic. It reported more cases than any other city Aug. 17-19. Pearland and Angleton both reported 16 cases Aug. 20, more than any other city in the county.
