Work is underway on a new fire and emergency medical services building in Brazoria County.

Brazoria County Emergency Services District No. 3 on June 7 broke ground on its newest fire and emergency medical service station at 3042 Meridiana Parkway, Rosharon.

The 12,500-square-foot station is expected to cost $6.9 million and will be constructed on 1.56 acres of land near the intersection of Meridiana Parkway and Sierra Vista Boulevard near Hwy. 288, according to BCESD 3. Construction is expected to be completed by May 2023.

The site will have direct access to Meridiana Parkway for emergency response vehicles. The service area for the station snakes around Hwy. 288 and will stretch just north of Hwy. 6 up to Des Moines Court all the way south to FM 1462, according to BCESD 3.
