• The Galveston County Commissioners Court meets at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 9 at the County Courthouse, 722 Moody, Galveston. The agenda includes consideration of a hazard mitigation grant application for a property elevation program and discussion from Pct. 4 Commissioner Ken Clark on the Hurricane Harvey recovery.
• The Pearland City Council meets at 6:15 p.m. Monday, April 9 at City Hall,3519 Liberty Drive. The council will have the opportunity to vote on a proposal to increase the impact fee, which is charged to developers to help pay for infrastructure costs. State law requires municipalities to revisit the fee every five years.
• The Brazoria County Commissioners Court meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 10 at 111 E. Locust St., Ste. 100A, Angleton. The agenda includes an update on how the county would use $15.8 million in Community Development Block Grants for disaster assistance to address drainage projects and housing needs.

• The Friendswood ISD trustees meet at 5:45 p.m. Monday, April 9.
• The Pearland ISD trustees meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 10. The agenda includes a demographics and zoning report as well as an amendment to a security bond contract.

• Alvin ISD's board of trustees meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10. The agenda includes a district demographics report from Templeton Demographics.

• The Friendswood Chamber of Commerce is hosting a city council candidate forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Windsong Intermediate School, 2100 W Parkwood Ave., Friendswood.
• The Pearland Chamber of Commerce is hosting a city, school board and county candidate forum at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the C.A. Nelson Auditorium at Pearland Junior High West, 2337 N Galveston Ave., Pearland.
