Friendswood City Council approved the Friendswood Public Library’s five-year long-range strategic plan during its May 1 regular meeting.
The plan, which extends from 2017-22, listed four key service areas: youth succeeding, adult succeeding, discovery and interaction in a virtual world and community commons, according to library documents. The focus areas and plans were gathered from recommendations from the library board, staff and from a 24-member focus group of residents who met Feb. 21.
Potential activities for the library include a business center for entrepreneurs, book delivery for seniors and special needs adults, evening movies for children, more circulating tablets, a gardening program, a multisensory learning environment for children, improved digital delivery of content and providing 3-D printing and robotics training.
