The business is run by Todd and Denesse Iocco and their children, Bryant Iocco and April Maly. Epic Plumbing is family focused throughout many aspects of the business. To the owners, the rest of the employees are like family as well.
“When we hire people, we make sure they understand family comes first,” Maly said.
Todd said the business’s three priorities are God, family and business—in that order. The culture seeps through to its customers as well, many of whom have been using Epic Plumbing for years. Because of the dedication to customer service, most of its customers are repeat customers or referrals, Bryant said.
The business vets its plumbers heavily and would not send plumbers that they would not trust in their own homes, he said.
Business picked up for about two months after the February winter storm but has come back down to normal, the owners said.
“In one day, we had the same number of people call as in one month,” Bryant said.
Todd was in the plumbing business during the freeze of 1989 and was able to use some of his experience to do things differently this time around. One of the biggest changes is the business prioritized its repeat and longtime customers, he said.
Epic Plumbing started in 1996 as Epic Services. The business used to offer both plumbing and air-conditioning services. After a few years, the business dropped the AC services and rebranded as Epic Plumbing.
“You want to be 100% at what you do,” Maly said in reference to why the business focuses solely on plumbing.
When the business started, it was owned by Todd and Denesse. In 2016, Maly and Bryant joined the business as well. Both grew up watching their parents in the plumbing industry and said they were sure they wanted to go down a different path.
Maly went to college for education, and Bryant went for accounting. However, both decided they would rather be part of the family business.
“It is one of the best decisions I made in my life,” Maly said.
The most popular services for the business are fixing water heaters and toilets. The business also sells water softeners, which have increased in popularity over the years. Overall, the business offers a wide variety of services and products related to plumbing, drainage systems and sewers.
“If it’s water, sewer or gas, we deal with it,” Todd said.
